Success of a Conducting Student

Daehwan Kim, a student in the conducting class of Prof. Marek Pijarowski (PhD, DSc, honorary doctorate of AMKL), has become the winner of the 5th National Adam Kopyciński Conducting Students’ Competition, taking first place. We warmly congratulate him on this wonderful achievement!

The 5th National Adam Kopyciński Conducting Students’ Competition concluded with great success, showcasing an exceptionally high artistic level and a very even competition among participants.

The finalists of this year’s edition were:

1st place – Daehwan Kim (Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław)
2nd place – Jan Sułkowski (Krzysztof Penderecki Academy of Music in Kraków)
3rd place – Anika Rehmus (Feliks Nowowiejski Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz)
Honorable mentions – Olga Polowczyk (Ignacy Jan Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznań), Nikodem Świder (Fryderyk Chopin University of Music), Wojciech Terech (Feliks Nowowiejski Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz)

The competition proved to be extremely demanding—the level was very high and evenly matched, requiring not only outstanding musical skills from the participants, but also endurance, perseverance, and resilience.
