The success of an educator
We are delighted to announce another success for our faculty member, PhD Tomasz Marut, who won first prize at the 26th Piano FVG 2026 International Piano Competition.
The competition brought together 68 pianists from 21 countries around the world, and only six participants qualified for the final round. PhD Tomasz Marut impressed the jury both during the solo rounds—receiving a special prize for the best performance of a contemporary piece for his interpretation of Lowell Liebermann’s “Gargoyles”—and in the competition’s grand finale.
In addition to the first prize, he also received several special awards, including the CEI (Central European Initiative) Award and the opportunity to record an album for the KNS Classical label.
We warmly congratulate him on this exceptional achievement and wish him continued artistic success and many wonderful concerts!
