The ‘Composer Commissions’ programme

The Ministry of Culture and National Heritage has published the results of the call for applications for the ‘Composer Commissions’ programme, which is operated by the National Institute of Music and Dance.

The Ministry of Culture and National Heritage has published the results of the selection process for the ‘Composer Commissions’ programme, which is operated by the National Institute of Music and Dance. Among the projects that were approved were those carried out by various cultural institutions, including the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław, involving composers and performers associated with our Academy.

A total of 237 applications were submitted to the Programme, of which 64 projects with a total value of PLN 1,658,386.00 were selected for implementation by the Minister. The aim of the Programme is to support contemporary musical creativity by commissioning new works, premiering them, popularising them and ensuring their presence in the public space.

The Programme covers projects across a very wide range of genres, from contemporary classical music and musical theatre to transdisciplinary projects combining music with other fields of performing and visual arts. The music created within the framework of the programme is intended to reach both large concert centres and smaller towns, playing an important role in arts education.

Artists associated with the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław participate in the projects selected for implementation:

prof. dr hab. Cezary Duchnowski
