The New Media Art and Science Club focuses on the use and interaction of music in intermedia, multimedia, audiovisual art and interdisciplinarity in the broad sense. We bring together composers, theorists, conductors, instrumentalists, performers – in short, anyone interested in exploring the mysteries of new media art.
Our members have the opportunity to pursue their ideas and interests, for example in collaboration with students of the Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław (Random Check project), as part of the annual ‘Concert in the Courtyard’ series, an event organised by the Computer Composition Studio of the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław, or as part of their own grassroots initiatives.
In the near future, the Club plans to create a thriving community of students, doctoral students and lovers of new media art, which is why the Club's formula is open – anyone interested in participating in the Club's activities is welcome.
The objectives of the Club include, in particular:
- supporting and actively promoting the activities and initiatives of the Computer Composition Studio of the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław,
- developing artistic and scientific life by proposing and implementing its own projects and initiatives in cooperation with the Computer Composition Studio,
- organising events such as lecture and discussion panels, concerts presenting the achievements of both Club members and classical creators of new media art, courses and masterclasses, meetings devoted to the work of artists working with sound, image, word and gesture,
- expanding the knowledge and skills of Club members in the field of new media art and culture,
- creating a research and performance team for new media art,
- establishing cooperation with research clubs at other universities in Poland and abroad,
- monitoring current domestic and international artistic and scientific events related to new media.
