The Scientific and Artistic Society of Conducting (abbreviated as KAND) has been operating at the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław since 2010. It brings together conducting students and enables them to create joint projects related to their field of study.

Since its establishment, KAND has focused its activities on three main projects.
The first is the organization of live internet broadcasts of concerts from the Berlin Philharmonic (Digital Concert Hall). Thanks to this opportunity provided by the Berlin Philharmonic, students can regularly watch concerts streamed online in high audiovisual quality. This initiative is an invaluable support for young musicians, allowing them to follow the latest artistic trends directly from one of the most important concert stages in the world.

The second project is a series entitled “Meetings with Interesting People”, during which students have the opportunity to meet renowned and influential conductors. In direct, semi-formal conversations, they can ask invited guests about their artistic views, repertoire preferences, career paths, and many other topics. As part of this project, meetings have already been held with, among others: Tadeusz Strugała, Jacek Kaspszyk, Gabriel Chmura, Michał Nesterowicz, Jaap ter Linden, and Łukasz Borowicz.

The third project consists of joint discussions of works currently being prepared by students for orchestral practice classes.

Membership in the Scientific and Artistic Society of Conducting is open to all students of the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław.
