Scientific Conference "The Development of New Means and Performance Techniques as a Determinant of Progress in the Percussion Art of the 21st Century"
From April 14–16, 2025, the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław hosted an academic conference entitled "The Development of New Performance Means and Techniques as a Determinant of Progress in 21st-Century Percussion Art," organized by the Department of Wind, Percussion, and Accordion. The event featured a hybrid format: lectures and concerts were available both in-person and online.
The conference aimed to popularize and integrate the Polish percussion community and create a space for the exchange of artistic and pedagogical experiences. The meeting brought together renowned artists, lecturers, and young performers from various academic centers who participated in presentations, lectures, and concerts—covering contemporary, jazz, ethnic, and improvised music, among others.
The percussion concerts—diverse in form, performance lineup, and aesthetic—were particularly popular. They showcased the vast interpretative and sonic possibilities of contemporary percussion art. We encourage you to listen to the recordings available HERE and on the YouTube channel of the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław.
We present a photo gallery documenting selected moments from the conference and concerts. Photographs by Paulina Ochrymczuk.
The conference is co-financed by the City of Wrocław.
