On October 10, 2013, the Inauguration Ceremony of the 2013/2014 Academic Year at Wrocław's Art Academies took place, as usual, in the Leopoldina Hall of the University of Wrocław. The ceremony included speeches by the Rectors, the matriculation of first-year students, and the presentation of awards and distinctions to university staff. A particularly important highlight of this year's inauguration program was the ceremony of awarding the title of Doctor Honoris Causa by the Wrocław Academy of Music to the distinguished conductor Maestro Gabriel Chmura.
