The grand opening of the new Wrocław Academy of Music concert hall took place on October 26, 2013. Speeches preceded the ceremony where Minister of Culture and National Heritage Bogdan Zdrojewski presented the Gloria Artis Medals for Merit to Polish Culture to Professors Jerzy Mrozik, Grażyna Pstrokońska-Nawratil, Tadeusz Zathey, and Agata Młynarska-Klonowska.
The ceremonial inauguration of the concert hall was honored by a Special Jubilee Concert to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the Wrocław Academy of Music, featuring Maestro Marek Pijarowski, soloists Joanna Zawartko, Agnieszka Rehlis, Jędrzej Tomczyk, and Stavros Chatzipentidis, the Academic Symphony Orchestra, the Feichtinum Choir, and the Academy of Music Big Band.
The concert featured performances of Adam Porębski's "Hierophonos F-E-C-H," dedicated to the first Rector of the Academy and awarded a prize in the student composition competition, as well as Anton Bruckner's "Te Deum," Rolf Liebermann's "Concerto for Jazz Ensemble and Symphony Orchestra," and Wojciech Kilar's "Krzesany." The Special Jubilee Concert was presented again on October 27, 2013.
