Special educator in the field of social rehabilitation, oligophrenopedagogue, certified specialist in the diagnosis and therapy of children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD), certified diagnostician and therapist for children with developmental and behavioural difficulties and chronically ill children, specialist in education and therapy for children with profound and multiple disabilities.
Her main scientific and research interests include: issues related to people with autism spectrum disorders (ASD), early detection of autism and supporting the development of young children with developmental disorders, theory of mind in autism, both in research and therapy, as well as co-occurring disorders (comorbidity) in the field of child and adolescent psychopathology.
She is certified in the use of the ADOS-2 tool for the clinical diagnosis of children with autism spectrum disorders and the Screening Tool for Autism in Toddlers (STAT) for the early detection of autism in young children.
She is the author or co-author of numerous books, including:
‘The Child with Autism. Cognitive Deficit Therapy and Theory of Mind’ (2008),
‘Autism. On the Edge of Understanding’ (2009),
‘Children with Combined Disorders: Difficult Paths of Development’ (2012),
‘Children with Special Communication Needs: Diagnosis, Education, Therapy’ (2013)
‘Emotions of Children and Adolescents with Developmental and Behavioural Difficulties’ (2017)
and several dozen articles on child development psychopathology, particularly autism spectrum disorders (ASD), emotional disorders in children and adolescents, communication disorders, behavioural disorders and issues related to children at risk of developmental disabilities in terms of early intervention and early childhood development support.
She works as an assistant professor at the Institute of Pedagogy of the University of Wrocław, Department of Education of People with Disabilities.
