He was born on April 11, 1963, in Wrocław. In 1976, he graduated from the Wrocław Social Music Center, and in 1982, the Karol Szymanowski Primary and Secondary Music School, where he studied accordion under Waldemar Ogrodniczak from 1976 to 1978 and under Ireneusz Wróbel from 1978 to 1982. Between 1982 and 1986, he completed his master's degree in accordion performance at the Academy of Music in Wrocław in the class of Ireneusz Wróbel. In 2002, the Council of the Karol Szymanowski Instrumental Department in Katowice awarded him a first degree in music in the artistic discipline of instrumental performance. In 2002, he was appointed assistant professor at the Academy of Music in Wrocław. In 2000, he completed postgraduate studies in the management of educational and cultural institutions, and since 1998 he has been a member of the Wrocław Accordion Quintet.
In 1996 and 1998, he lectured on the methodology of teaching the accordion as part of the Pedagogical Course organized by the Academy of Music in Wrocław. In 2002, he led the National Open Methodological Consultations organized in Częstochowa. He also participated as a lecturer in the 6th International Master Course at Schloss Zell an der Pramm in Austria.
He is actively involved in concert activities as a soloist and chamber musician, performing in Poland and abroad. In Poland, he has given concerts at the Witold Lutosławski Philharmonic in Wrocław, the Lower Silesian Philharmonic in Jelenia Góra, the Wrocław Radio Concert Hall, the Wrocław Opera, the concert halls of the Polish Theater in Wrocław, the Kłodzko Cultural Center, in Świdnica and Jawor, at the 10th Swedish Culture Days in Lower Silesia, in Ostrzeszów on World Palliative Care Day, in Jelenia Góra-Sobieszów at the Musica-Viva Chamber Music Festival, at the Prince's Castle in Oleśnica, as well as in the halls of Wrocław music schools and universities. Abroad, he has performed in Germany at the MUSIKHERBST WESTMÜNSTERLAND Festival (2002), as well as in a duet with accordion and violin accompanied by the Chamber Orchestra in Austria (2007).
Z. Łuc has been working as an accordion teacher at the Karol Szymanowski Primary and Secondary Music School in Wrocław since 1983, and at the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music since 1986 (since 2002 as an assistant professor). His students have won national and international accordion competitions for soloists and chamber music ensembles, such as: the International Accordion Competition in Klingenthal (Germany) - Piotr Dziubek, 3rd prize (1991), the International Competition in Castelfidardo (Italy) - P. Dziubek, 3rd prize (1992); International Festival “Baltica-Harmonika” in Saint Petersburg (Russia) - P. Dziubek, 1st prize (1993); International Accordion Competition in Vilnius - Rafał Łuc, 2nd prize (2002); International Accordion Music Festival in Reinach (Switzerland) - R. Łuc, 1st place (2003); International Accordion Music Competition in Bratislava (Slovakia) - R. Łuc 1st prize (2004), as well as national competitions and national competitions of an international character.

Students taught by Z. Łuc were scholarship holders of the Minister of Culture, the National Children's Fund, the Local Government of Wrocław, the Marshal's Office of the Lower Silesian Province, and winners of the “Lower Silesia” scholarships awarded by the Chapter of the Lower Silesian Talent Support System of the International Education Foundation.
From 1998 to 2004, Z. Łuc served as deputy director for music at the Karol Szymanowski Primary and Secondary Music School in Wrocław, and since 2004 he has been director of the Primary and Secondary Music School, head of teaching practice at the Instrumental Department of the Academy of Music in Wrocław, Vice-Chairman of the University Election Committee of the Academy of Music for the 2008-2012 term, member of the Senate of the Academy of Music in 2002-2005, 2005-2008 and 2008-2012, president of the School Support Association for the Karol Szymanowski Primary and Secondary Music School in Wrocław, accordion consultant for Artistic Education at the Ministry of Culture, and expert at the Ministry of National Education.
Zbigniew Łuc has received numerous awards and distinctions for his artistic, pedagogical, and social activities, including: the Silver Cross of Merit (2000 and 2006), Individual Awards from the Director of the CEA I and II degree (2000 and 2004), Awards from the Rector of the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław (1989, 1994, 2002, 2004, 2008), Awards from the Director of the Karol Szymanowski Primary and Secondary Music School (from 1987 to 2004), Diploma of the Director of the Center for Artistic Education in Warsaw for outstanding achievements of the school and distinguished performance of the compulsory program by students at the National Auditions of Primary and Secondary Music Schools in the 2007/2008 school year.
