PhD Elżbieta Zawadzka

Pianist and chamber musician. In 2002, she graduated with distinction from the piano class of Prof. Grzegorz Kurzyński at the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław. That same year, the Senate of the Academy awarded her the honorary diploma Primus Inter Pares. In 2006, she completed her doctoral dissertation. Dr. Elżbieta Zawadzka works at her alma mater in the Piano Department, combining concert activity with teaching.

Her artistic achievements include numerous prizes at national and international piano competitions. She has also been awarded multiple scholarships from the Minister of Culture and Art and the Municipality of Wrocław. She has performed at many prestigious venues in Poland, including Łazienki Królewskie and the Ostrogski Castle in Warsaw, the Pomeranian Philharmonic in Bydgoszcz, the Wrocław Philharmonic, the Kraków Philharmonic, and the National Philharmonic in Warsaw during its centenary celebrations. She has actively performed abroad, presenting a diverse solo and chamber repertoire. Among her most important appearances are concerts in Leipzig, Frankfurt am Main, Wiesbaden, Munich, Weimar, Brno, Strasbourg, Paris, and Washington, D.C. At the invitation of the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Chicago, she gave several recitals across the United States.

In 2012, together with Elżbieta Woleńska, she released a CD featuring works by Johann Sedlatzek (world premiere recordings of the composer’s pieces). The album received enthusiastic reviews in music journals in France, the Netherlands, the United States, and Australia.
