PhD Justyna Stanek

A graduate of the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice, where she studied under Prof. Tomasz Miczka. Winner of, amongst others, the 2nd prize at the Michał Spisak International Music Competition in Dąbrowa Górnicza (2012) and the 1st prize at the National Wind Ensemble Competition in Warsaw (2012; classical quintet category).

Since 2013, she has been working at the Wrocław Philharmonic as a soloist. She has also collaborated with ensembles such as the Orchestre Philharmonique de Marseille, the Prague Chamber Orchestra, the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra (NOSPR), Sinfonia Varsovia, the Silesian Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra and AUKSO – the Tychy Chamber Orchestra.

She also performs as a soloist and chamber musician. At the Kodály Centre in Pécs (Hungary), she performed Witold Lutosławski’s Double Concerto for Oboe, Harp and Chamber Orchestra alongside harpist Malwina Lipiec-Rozmysłowicz and the Wrocław Philharmonic Orchestra (NFM) under the baton of Giancarlo Guerrero. She founded the Phantasy Group, with whom she has performed at numerous festivals in Poland.

In 2024, she received a scholarship from the Lower Silesian Voivodeship for individuals engaged in artistic creation and the promotion of culture, to carry out a scholarship project entitled Polish Classical Music in the Palaces of Lower Silesia. The project was followed by an album released in collaboration with pianist Monika Kruk, featuring 20th-century Polish music for oboe and piano (DUX 2025).

She was awarded a PhD in 2019 and has been a lecturer in the oboe class at the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław since 2022. She has been Vice-Dean of the Instrumental Department since 2026.
