MA Hanna Marasz-Fiugajska

A graduate of the Aleksander Zelwerowicz Theater Academy in Warsaw, the Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Postgraduate Voice Training at the Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz, and the Secondary Music School in Toruń. From 1998 to 2001, she worked as a singer at P. Z. L. P. and T. “Mazowsze.” Since 2008, she has been associated with the Wrocław Opera as an assistant director, where she also conducted a children's choir from 2015 to 2019. Since 2022, she has been teaching students at the Vocal Department of the Academy of Music in Wrocław. As an assistant director and director of revivals, she has also collaborated with the Grand Theatre – National Opera, La Monnaie in Brussels, and the Welsh National Opera in Cardiff. She has assisted many outstanding directors, including M. Treliński, D. Pountney, I. Brook, H. De Ania, G. del Monaco, J. Herman, A. Seniuk, L. Adamik, W. Zawodziński, and M. Zadar. As a director of revivals, she has transferred Puccini's Manon Lescaut (dir. M. Trelinski) from the Grand Theatre – National Opera to the aforementioned opera house in Cardiff, and Cherubini's Medea (dir. S. Stone) from the Salzburg Festival to the Warsaw stage. Since 2016, she has been directing opera performances independently. Her credits include Bernstein's “Candide” at the Wrocław Opera (2017), Orefici's “Chopin” at the Grand Theatre in Łódź (2021), J. Stefani's “Cud mniemany, czyli Krakowiacy i Górale” at the Academy of Music in Wrocław (2024), and the world premieres of contemporary Polish operas: M. Ziółkowski's “Brzydkie kaczątko” at the National Forum of Music in Wrocław (2016), Z. Krauze's “Yemayi - Queen of the Seas” at the Wrocław Opera (2019, recording for TVP Kultura), A. Lepka's “Śnieżka 2.0” at the National Forum of Music in Wrocław (2024). He is also the director of staged concerts performed at the Wrocław Opera: “New Year's Eve Ball” (2024), “Faces of Love” (2021, 2023), “Home Songbook” (2022).
