MA Marta Niedźwiecka

baroque and classical recitative

A graduate of the harpsichord class of Prof. Marta Czarny-Kaczmarska and dr hab. Aleksandra Rupocińska at the Academy of Music in Wrocław, she also studied with Nicholas Parle at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater "Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy" in Leipzig. She has participated in numerous master classes led by Ketil Haugsand, Jacques Ogg, Bernhard Klapprott, Władysław Kłosiewicz, Marcin Szelest, and Marek Toporowski, among others. She is interested in all types of historical keyboard instruments.

The artist performs extensively and teaches extensively. She lectures at the Academy of Music in Wrocław and in Lidzbark Warmiński during the Varmia Musica Festival. As a chamber musician, she collaborates with numerous ensembles, including: Wrocław Baroque Ensemble, Ars Cantus, Cantores Minores Wratislavienses, Wrocław Baroque Orchestra, Fernabucco. She has performed at numerous festivals, including the International Festival Wratislavia Cantans, Forum Musicum, Bach-Fest Leipzig, the International Bach Festival in Świdnica, Usedomer Musikfestival, Jazztopad Festival, Ohrid Summer Festival, Galway Early Music Festival, and Edinburgh International Festival. She has participated in the recording of numerous albums, many of which have received or been nominated for the Fryderyk Award.

She is a DAAD scholarship holder (2008), a laureate of the Wrocław Music Award (2007), and the 7th edition of the "Young Poland" scholarship program of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage (2010), as well as a scholarship from the Minister of Culture and National Heritage (2021). Artistic director of the Forgotten City 2016 project, implemented by the Witold Lutosławski National Forum of Music in Wrocław as part of the European Capital of Culture 2016 programme.
