mgr Jan Bielak

A lecturer at our Academy, MA Jan Bielak, took part in the 24th International Conference of Music Theory “Principles of Music Composing: Ethno - in Contempo”, held in Vilnius on 13–15 November 2024.
The conference, organized by the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre, was devoted to the role of ethnicity in the contemporary world and its significance in 20th- and 21st-century music. Sixteen speakers from around the world took part in the event, accompanied by two outstanding concerts.

MA Jan Bielak presented a paper entitled “Adhan, Tarab and Songs. On the Orient of Karol Szymanowski”, in which he explored the connections between selected songs by Szymanowski and Arabic music. His presentation attracted great interest and sparked a lively discussion that highlighted the originality of Szymanowski’s lyricism.

We sincerely congratulate our lecturer on this success and look forward to his future contributions!
