Marcel Nytko

a first-year undergraduate student at the Faculty of Vocal Studies at the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław, and Paweł Szlachta, a first-year doctoral student at the AMKL Doctoral School, received awards in the 5th International Nechama Lifšicaitė Vocal Competition (V tarptautinis Nechamos Lifšicaitės vokalistų konkursas), which took place from October 26–30, 2025, in Vilnius, Lithuania.

Marcel Nytko won:

International Yiddish Song Competition named after Nechama Lifshitz (Tarptautinio Nechamos Lifšicaitės jidiš dainos konkurso) – 1st place
5th International Young Vocalists' Competition named after Nechama Lifshitz (V tarptautinio Nechamos Lifšicaitės jaunųjų dainininkų konkurso) – 1st place


Paweł Szlachta received the first place award in the Nechama Lifshitz Vocal Competition in the 21-35 age category.

We sincerely congratulate Marcel and Paweł, as well as the teachers who prepared them for this competition: Prof. Dr. Hab. Bogdan Makal and Prof. Dr. Hab. Piotr Łykowski, on their excellent result and the wonderful representation of our University on the international stage!

Charles Balcer

Charles Balcer, a first-year undergraduate student in the organ class of Dr. Piotr Rojek, professor at the Academy of Music and Performing Arts, and Dr. Łukasz Kołakowski, received an honorable mention in the Marian Sawa National Organ Competition for students and graduates of music academies. The competition took place on October 8–9 at the Military Cathedral of the Polish Army in Warsaw.

Zofia Dusza

Zofia Dusza, a second-year undergraduate student at the Faculty of Instrumental Music, won first place in the 2025 Berlin International Music Competition! She is studying with Professor Michał Micker and Łukasz Kierończyk.

Wojciech Jakubowski

Wojciech Jakubowski, a third-year guitar student in the class of prof. dr hab. Piotr Zaleski, has won First Prize at the International Guitar Competition GUITAR TALENT ’25 in Brno.

We are proud to announce that Wojciech Jakubowski, a third-year guitar student in the class of prof. dr hab. Piotr Zaleski, has won First Prize at the International Guitar Competition GUITAR TALENT ’25 in Brno. This prestigious competition, with its long-standing tradition, brings together outstanding guitarists from around the world, including artists and pedagogues of the highest caliber – from Rafael Andía to Pavel Steidl. Its stages have hosted numerous premieres and master performances, while the festival, of which the competition is a part, attracts participants from over 30 countries.

The award for Wojciech is not only advancement to the finals of the J. S. Bach Guitar Competition in Tokyo in 2026, but also a remarkable guitar crafted by master luthier Masaki Sakurai – one of the last instruments he created.
