MA Magdalena Wojtas

choral conducting

Graduate of the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław, Faculty of Music Education, Choral Studies and Church Music (choral conducting class of Dr. Hab. Agnieszka Franków-Żelazny), as well as of the Piastów Śląskich Medical University in Wrocław, Faculty of Nursing. She also completed vocal studies at the Vocal Faculty in the solo singing class of Prof. Danuta Paziuk-Zipser.

She works as Assistant Lecturer at the Faculty of Music Education, Choral Studies and Church Music, teaching Pedagogical Practice with School Instrumental Ensemble and co-teaching: Feichtinum Choir, Senza Rigore Chamber Choir, Stanisław Krukowski Choir, String Orchestra, and Voice Emission.

Since 2011 she has been Artistic Director of the Medici Cantantes Choir of the Wrocław Medical University, with which she has won numerous international awards, including:

Grand Prix and Prize for Best Performance of a Renaissance Work at the International Choir Competition in Ohrid (Macedonia, 2014)


2nd Prize at the Wrocław International Choral Festival Vratislavia Sacra (2015)


Silver Medal at the International Choir Competition in Preveza (Greece, 2015)


1st Prize (sacred music), 2nd Prize (folk music), and Special Prize for Best Performance of the Set Piece at the International Choir Competition in Freamunde (Portugal, 2016)


Four Gold Diplomas and two 1st Prizes (entertainment music and Pau Casals’ music) at the International Choral Competition in Lloret de Mar and Barcelona (Spain, 2017)


Two Silver Diplomas (mixed choirs, sacred music) at the International Choral Competition in Rimini (Italy, 2018)


2nd Prize (mixed choirs) and Special Prize for Best Performance of a Contemporary Piece at the Music and Sea International Choir Competition in Paralia (Greece, 2019).


With the choir she recorded the album I See Choir (2017).

She has been awarded, among others:

1st Prize and Prize for Best Methodological Work with Choir at the 14th National Choral Conductors’ Competition in Poznań (2012)


Prize for Best Conductor at the Wrocław International Competition Vratislavia Sacra and Prize of the Silesian Music Society (2015)


Finalist of the 7th International Choral Conducting Competition Towards Polyphony and winner of the Special Prize of the Honorary Consul of Italy, Monika Kwiatosz, for the best interpretation of a piece inspired by Italian poetry (2016).


She has collaborated:

As singer with the NFM Choir, Wratislavia Cantans Festival Choir, and Polish Radio Choir in Kraków


As assistant conductor with the Polish National Youth Choir


As vocal consultant with the Wrocław Contemporary Theatre.


She has further developed her skills in conducting and vocal courses, seminars, and workshops. She has also served as a jury member at the Lower Silesian Youth Culture Festival Przekręt, the 15th Vocal and Music Presentations for Children and Youth with Disabilities Marzenia, and the International Choir Competition in Ohrid (Macedonia).
