choral conducting
Conductor, choirmaster, pedagogue. Graduate of the Academy of Music in Wrocław in the conducting class of Prof. Maria Oraczewska-Skorek and of the Postgraduate Choral Conducting Studies at the Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz.
From 1983 to 2005 she was conductor and choir director of the Wrocław Musical Theatre – Operetta. During this period, she prepared numerous ballet, opera, operetta, and musical productions. Notable titles include: Die Fledermaus, Viennese Blood, Count Luxemburg, The Land of Smiles, The Beggar Student, Carmen, The Abduction from the Seraglio, Cabaret, Zorba, The Magician of Lublin, My Fair Lady, Hello, Dolly!, Fiddler on the Roof, The Threepenny Opera. Between 1982 and 1994 she was conductor of the Women’s Choir of the University of Wrocław.
Since 1991 she has been a faculty member of the Academy of Music in Wrocław. In 1995 she obtained first-degree qualifications in conducting vocal-instrumental ensembles and was appointed assistant professor. Her graduates now work independently in Poland and abroad. From 1995 to 2005 she was conductor and artistic director of the Feichtinum Choir at the Wrocław Academy of Music, with which she frequently premiered new choral works. In 2005, based on her artistic achievements and habilitation thesis, she was awarded the degree of doctor habilitated in musical arts in the discipline of conducting at the Fryderyk Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw.
Between 1987 and 2009 she also collaborated with the Jedliniok Song and Dance Ensemble (Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences), between 2007 and 2009 with the Polish Chamber Orchestra Sotto Voce, and with the Gliwice Musical Theatre.
Since 2006 she has been Music Director and Conductor of the Representative Lower Silesian Song and Dance Ensemble Wrocław.
For her conducting work, she has been repeatedly honored with Rector’s Awards of the University of Wrocław, the Agricultural Academy, and the Wrocław Academy of Music. She has also been decorated by the Minister of Culture and Art with the title of Meritorious Cultural Activist and by the President of the Republic of Poland with the Gold Cross of Merit.
In 2012 she received the title of Professor of Musical Arts.
