PhD Dominik Gawroński
trumpet
Trumpeter, composer, arranger, bandleader, and session musician, born on 29 December 1990 in Radom. He is a graduate of the Oskar Kolberg Music School Complex (Primary and Secondary) in Radom in the class of Małgorzata Dzikowska, the Fryderyk Chopin State Secondary Music School in Warsaw, Jazz Department, in the class of Robert Majewski, as well as the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław, Jazz Department, in the class of Prof. Piotr Wojtasik, DMA.
Since 2016 he has been a lecturer at the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław, Jazz Department. In 2020 he obtained the degree of Doctor of Arts defending his doctoral dissertation entitled: Cultural diversity as a factor shaping the contemporary face of European jazz based on the works of selected trumpeters.

1st Prize with Swinging Birds and Individual Award for Instrumentalist at the 6th European Musical Integrations in Żyrardów (2010)
1st Prize at the 6th Wind Instruments Competition in Warsaw (2005)
He has participated in numerous jazz and non-jazz projects, including: Big Band Akwarium, Big Band of the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw under the direction of Ryszard Borowski, and the Perfect Girls & Friends Orchestra under the direction of Wojciech Zieliński. He is a member of the Polish-German Jazz Orchestra under the direction of Bernhard Mergner, and since 2018 has also served as a lecturer in that orchestra. He collaborates with the Wind Machine Orchestra under the direction of Bernhard Mergner and the Silesian Jazz Orchestra under the direction of Siegmund Lindner. He co-creates projects such as: Gawroński/Lechki Consolidation Collective, Gawroński/Zarecki New Orleans Ensemble, Dominik Gawroński Quintet, João de Sousa & Fado Polaco, Paśko i zespół CO TO, among many others.
Since 2017 he has been a lecturer at the Summer Big Band Workshops in Nysa.
He has taken part in recordings of such albums as: Olga Boczar – Music Essence: Little Inspirations, João de Sousa – Luta, Michał Sołtan – Mallada, Krzysztof Zęsławski Quartet – Osiecka jazzowo, Aleksandra Jastrzębska – Ola Jas, Bartosz Pernal Sextet – Into the Wild, Kasia Kowalska – MTV Unplugged, Aleksandra Jastrzębska – Jasna, João de Sousa – Ideal, Damian Hyra Quartet – Z oddali.
