MA Rafał Karasiewicz

Pianist, composer, arranger, and music producer. Graduate of the Instrumental Department of the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław in the piano class of Prof. Grzegorz Kurzyński and Prof. Paweł Zawadzki, DMA.

Mgr Rafał Karasiewicz is the leader of the ensemble KARASIEWICZ POWER SET, which includes Adam Wendt, Tomasz Pacanowski, Tomasz Grabowy, Artur Lipiński, and guest artist Krzesimir Dębski. He is also a member of Wiesław Prządka Quintetto Tango Nuevo, Tango Jazz Project, Andy Middleton & Brothers in Jazz, and a guest performer with JJ BAND.

He has collaborated, or continues to collaborate, with: Ewa Bem, Krystyna Prońko, Grażyna Łobaszewska, Justyna Szafran, Krzesimir Dębski, Krzysztof Herdzin, Leszek Możdżer, Piotr Baron, Krzysztof Kiljański, Piotr Dziubek.

As a composer, conductor, music director, arranger, and bandleader, he has collaborated with orchestras including: the National Forum of Music (NFM), the Szczecin Philharmonic, the Lower Silesian Philharmonic, the Kraków Philharmonic, the Warmia and Mazury Philharmonic, the Sudeten Philharmonic, the Baltic Philharmonic, the Pomeranian Philharmonic, the Gorzów Philharmonic, Tomasz Szymuś’s Orchestra, as well as with theatres: Capitol Music Theatre, Polish Theatre in Wrocław, Contemporary Theatre in Wrocław, C. K. Norwid Theatre in Jelenia Góra, Dramatic Theatre in Wałbrzych, Ad Spectatores Theatre, New Theatre in Poznań.

He is the author of the orchestrations for the album Celuloid by Artur Lesicki / Marek Napiórkowski, which was nominated for the Fryderyk Award 2016 in the category Jazz Album of the Year.

Rafał Karasiewicz serves as Artistic Director of the International Jazz Workshops organized as part of the “Jazz Bez” International Jazz Festival, and also of the International Jazz Workshops in Puławy. He has taught as a lecturer of the keyboard class during the Blues Workshops held as part of the Puławy Blues Summer, as a piano lecturer at the Wrocław School of Jazz and Popular Music (2006–2016), the Wrocław Musical Theatre School (2006–2019), and the Academy of Theatre Arts in Wrocław (2019–2024).

Mgr Rafał Karasiewicz is also the founder of the Wrocław School of Music Animation.
