PhD Grzegorz Piasecki

Double bassist and bass guitarist associated with the Wrocław artistic community.

He was a recipient of the “Young Poland” scholarship program of the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage in the field of music for outstanding achievements in 2013. In the same year, he received the “Diploma of the Year 2013” award from the Marshal of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship for the best graduate of art schools.

Winner of many prizes and distinctions at prestigious Polish and international jazz festivals, including Jazz Nad Odrą, Bielska Zadymka Jazzowa, Jazz Juniors, Jazz Contest Azoty Tarnów.

In 2017, he received the Fryderyk Award for Jazz Debut of the Year for the album Tomasz Wendt Trio & Atom String Quartet – Behind the Strings.

He collaborates with outstanding musicians in Poland and abroad, such as: Piotr Wojtasik, Leszek Możdżer, Marc Lotz, Marc Bernstein, Mack Goldsbury, Rogier Teldermann, Artur Tuźnik, Piotr Damasiewicz, Tomasz Wendt, Marek Kądziela, Magdalena Zawartko.

He co-creates the project Zawartko/Piasecki – Leć głosie, which has received several awards and nominations, including the WARTO Award of Gazeta Wyborcza and represented European Capital of Culture 2016.
