PhD Tomasz Wendt
saxophone
Born on May 3, 1990, in Gdańsk. As a saxophone student, he graduated with honors from the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław, simultaneously receiving the “Diploma of the Year 2014” award. He was also distinguished with the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage Award for the most talented students of art universities in Poland. In September 2019, he defended his doctoral dissertation at the Wrocław Academy of Music, where he currently serves as a lecturer.
The saxophonist’s first original album, Tomasz Wendt Trio & Atom String Quartet – Behind the Strings, received recognition in the Polish music community, resulting in the 2017 Fryderyk Award in the category Jazz Debut of the Year. In November 2019, another album of his original music was released: Tomasz Wendt – Chapter B.
Tomasz is a laureate of many prestigious music competitions in Poland and abroad, including:

As a saxophonist, he has collaborated with many outstanding artists from the music world, including: Grzegorz Nagórski, Piotr Wojtasik, Mateusz Smoczyński, Jan Smoczyński, Joachim Mencel, Michał Miśkiewicz, Rafał Sarnecki, Artur Lesicki, Kuba Stankiewicz, Urszula Dudziak, Eric Allen (USA), Dean Brown (USA).
Tomasz has performed in the United States, Israel, Norway, Germany, Moldova, Spain, Italy, Latvia, Hungary, and Ukraine.
