Dawid Grenda
We are delighted to announce that Dawid Grenda, a student in the composition class of prof. dr hab. Marcin Bortnowski, has won First Prize at the 3rd Intercollegiate Composition Competition “The Dark Side of Art”, organized by the Feliks Nowowiejski Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz. 🎶✨
The challenge for the participants was to compose a piece for a given instrument overnight – a true test of creativity and artistic talent! Dawid represented our Academy and impressed the jury with his outstanding work entitled “o czym nie można mówić” (“what cannot be spoken of”).
The competition gathered eight participants from various Polish music academies, highlighting the prestige and significance of this event.
Warmest congratulations to Dawid on this remarkable achievement – we wish him continued artistic growth and further successes on his creative journey!
👉 The competition was organized by the Ignacy Jan Paderewski Music Society in Bydgoszcz and the Faculty of Composition, Theory of Music, and Sound Engineering at the Feliks Nowowiejski Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz, funded by the European Union – NextGenerationEU.
Oskar Hrankowski
We are proud to share the success of Oskar Hrankowski, a 2nd-year undergraduate student at the Faculty of Composition, Conducting, Theory of Music, and Music Therapy, studying under the guidance of prof. Grażyna Pstrokońska-Nawratil.
Oskar became a laureate of the 7th National Piotr Perkowski Composition Competition in Toruń, where he received not one, but two prizes:

🎶 3rd Prize for his piece Gavotte

Paweł Konieczny
Paweł Konieczny, a 2nd-year Master’s student at the Faculty of Instrumental Studies, under the guidance of dr hab. Waldemar Gromolak, has won the 3rd Prize at the International Guitar Competition in Pleven, Bulgaria, in the no-age-limit category.
Congratulations to Paweł on this outstanding achievement, and we wish him further artistic success on the international stage! 👏
Gabriela Stolińska
Gabriela Stolińska, a 1st-year Master’s student at the Faculty of Vocal and Acting Studies under the guidance of Prof. dr hab. Aleksandra Kubas-Kruk, has been awarded 2nd Prize at the 2nd National Vocal Chamber Music Competition named after Witold Friemann 2024.
Gabriela is also a participant of the Young Talent Education Program – Opera Academy at the Grand Theatre – National Opera in Warsaw. During the competition, she was accompanied by Mateusz Słowikowski, MA, who received the award for Outstanding Pianist.
Her performance was praised not only by the jury but also by Adam Rozlach, editor of Polish Radio Program I and presenter of TVP Kultura, who highlighted the artistic quality of her singing in his review:
“[…] A big voice, resonant and penetrating in the highest register, while in the middle range – beautiful and refined. There is technical precision, interesting ideas – this is truly excellent singing. Moniuszko was dynamically well-balanced, and the most captivating was the Serenade – performed with full discipline, the voice spread beautifully and broadly across the hall, conveying so much expression. […]”
