By the decision of the Minister of Education and Science, the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław has been awarded the highest category A+ in the discipline of musical arts in the evaluation of the quality of scientific activity for the years 2017-2021.

The Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław was the first arts university in Poland to be awarded the International Certificate of Institutional Accreditation by the Music Quality Enhancement Board in 2020.

DIDACTIC ACTIVITY

The Wrocław Academy of Music educates professional musicians, caring for the comprehensive development of students, doctoral students and participants in other forms of education, so that they are comprehensively prepared for artistic, scientific and research work, popularisation, culture-creating work, and in the case of obtaining pedagogical qualifications, also for teaching. The Academy offers young adepts of the art of music studies in a modern form and of the highest possible quality in seven faculties, at first and second degree level. Studies are conducted in full-time and part-time modes. In addition, the university runs a Doctoral School, which, in accordance with Act 2.0, replaced the previous doctoral studies (third degree studies), and also provides education in postgraduate studies. There is also an English Division at AMKL, allowing students to study in English, as well as a Pedagogical Study, allowing students and graduates to obtain the professional qualifications necessary to work as a teacher in the field of their completed course of study, as well as pedagogical qualifications. Each academic year, the university offers a number of master's courses, open to any interested student and doctoral student.

SCIENTIFIC ACTIVITY

The Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław is an important centre conducting scientific and research work within the framework of departments and the department, which bring together academic teachers of particular fields. The academy hosts international and national conferences, sessions, symposia and scientific seminars. The academy is the centre of research into the musical culture of Silesia in a historical and contemporary perspective, which manifests itself, among other things, through a series of conferences Traditions of Silesian Musical Culture. The academy also conducts in-depth research into the life and work of Karol Lipiński (a series of conferences Karol Lipiński - life, activity, epoka), as well as scientific work in the field of music theory (a series of conferences Analysis of a musical work. History - theoria - praxis). The Academy also organises regular conferences on ear training, presenting research results in the field of music therapy, music pedagogy, vocal and instrumental music performance. Materials from the conferences are published in peer-reviewed multi-author monographs.

ARTISTIC ACTIVITY

The rich, versatile and diverse artistic activities carried out by members of the community of the Wroclaw Academy of Music and the considerable number of artistic events realised by the Academy are one of the pillars of the AMKL's activity. Every year, the institution organises nearly 500 encounters with music, including symphonic concerts, chamber concerts, recitals by students of instrumental and vocal classes, oratorio and cantata concerts, choir concerts, jazz concerts, opera performances and other stage creations, concerts presenting the work of composers associated with the Academy, as well as music-making programmes for children. The Wrocław music academy is also proud of the numerous successes of its students and graduates, who are constantly winning awards at prestigious music competitions in Poland and abroad. The Academy regularly organises music festivals, such as the CLARIMANIA International Clarinet Festival or the mYear Musical Imagination Festival, as well as concert series, including the Graduates' Stage and the Graduate Concerts.The most important artistic formations of the university are: Academic Symphony Orchestra, Academic Chamber Orchestra, Avant-Garde Orchestra of the Academy of Music Sound Factory Orchestra, Academic Wind Orchestra, Academic Baroque Orchestra, Academic Feichtinum Choir, Stanisław Krukowski Choir, Senza Rigore Chamber Choir and Big-Band. Numerous chamber ensembles are also active at the Academy. A number of artistic initiatives are carried out in cooperation with foreign and domestic partner universities. It is worth noting that students actively participate in undertakings organised by the AMKL, taking part, among others, in performances of great vocal and instrumental works, workshops, master classes, as well as national and international competitions.
