Stanisław Krukowski Choir

The Stanisław Krukowski Choir was established in 1989 for the purposes of conducting practice at the then Faculty of Music Education (now the Faculty of Music Education, Choral Music and Church Music). The initiator of the ensemble was Prof. Zofia Urbanyi-Krasnodębska, and its first conductor was Dr Ewa Grygar. In 2007-2010, the ensemble was led by Dr Artur Wróbel, in 2010-2021 by Prof. Agnieszka Franków-Żelazny, and currently by Magdalena Wojtas, MA.

The ensemble is in fact part of the educational offer for all students of the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław, but it is mainly dedicated to students of the Instrumental Department. During its long history, the ensemble has undergone several transformations – from a mixed studio choir to a female choir, and then back to a mixed choir, now bearing the name of Stanisław Krukowski – long-time Dean of the Theoretical and Pedagogical Faculty, choirmaster and conductor.

The Stanisław Krukowski Choir performs a cappella music from various periods, both early and contemporary, and also participates in performances of great vocal-instrumental works, such as Verdi's Requiem and R. Augustine's oratorio Descensus Christi ad inferos. It also collaborates with final-year students of the Faculty of Music Education, Choral Singing and Church Music in the realisation of their diploma concerts, as well as with composition students, performing their works during regular choral composer concerts.

The Stanisław Krukowski Choir collaborates with the Feichtinum Choir.
