Mission of the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław

The mission of the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław is to serve society and the arts by contributing to the development of artistic concepts and scientific and research activities in the field of music, as well as by providing the highest quality of education to the musicians being educated, who, drawing on the wealth of world achievements in the musical sphere and surrounding themselves with respect for the values of their native culture, will be able to achieve the highest level of development of their own potential as artists, leaders and citizens of their country and the world.

This mission will be fulfilled through the following objectives:

The Academy will play an active role in shaping the future of the musical arts, guiding the development of modern educational programmes and supporting students in arts dissemination activities.

The Academy will influence society by widening access to its activities, resources and to its output, and by formulating an important voice in the debate on the relevance of music in the contemporary world.

The Academy will continue to raise its educational and artistic standards, responding to the changing image of the arts world and to the transformations in the global community of musicians.

The Academy will be open to all new stylistic orientations in the field of music and will inspire a more active engagement with these issues.

The Academy will appeal to the opinions of young musicians and put into practice their demands to facilitate access to the job market and to find their way in the contemporary music audience.

The Academy will seek to attract and include the most talented performers, creators, theorists and educators in its activities.

The Academy will continue to invite and recruit outstanding academics across all disciplines, ensuring that they are able to function most effectively within the University environment and participate in the artistic and educational life of the University community.
