Semester dates

The exact semester dates will be announced soon, as we are switching to a system in which both semesters are 15 weeks long. 

Winter semester starts on 1st October and ends around mid February, summer semester starts around mid February and ends in the middle of June. Each semester ends with exam session.


Deadlines for applications

For the whole year or selected semester (winter or summer) – 30th April.

For the summer semester only – 31st October. 


Requirements

Nomination
To apply for Erasmus+ exchange at the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław, you should be officially nominated by your Erasmus+ Coordinator. It can be done via e-mail sent from them to erasmus@amkl.edu.pl or as a signed letter attached to your application. Please send the nomination before the end of the application process.

  • Transcript of Records issued by your Institution
  • your photo
    • measurements: 300 x 375 pixels
    • format: JPG
    • resolution: 300 dpi
    • maximum photo file size: 60 kB
    • the photo should meet the requirements set for ID card photos.
  • artistic CV (as a pdf file)
  • motivational letter (as a pdf file)
  • recordings or portfolio (see below).

The application must be sent to the Erasmus+ Coordinator, not to a selected teacher.

You can submit your application via Easy (we are external partners, though) or a different application, but please don’t forget to enclose the required documents.

Field of studies

  • composition and music theory
  • music therapy

Recordings

For vocalists, instrumentalists and conductors: it is recommended to send 2–3 pieces that will show your technical and artistic skills, and diverse repertoire. The recording should show your recent achievements. The length should be around 10 minutes. Please send the youtube link (it can be private, but without password restrictions). 

For music theorists/musicologists: ToR and one paper showing your research in music.

For composition: 2–3 of your most representative works in form of a score (pdf) or recording.

Selection process

After the application has been sent, we will check if it is completed. If the application is incomplete, you will be contacted by us via email. 

All of the applications are collected and evaluated by our teachers. Please note that if you have already been in contact with a selected teacher, it does not mean that you were automatically accepted. The application must be sent to the Erasmus+ Coordinator. 

After all of the applications have been submitted, the decision is made around the end of May.

Language of the courses and required levels

It is recommended to have at least B1 knowledge of English to take part in classes. 

We provide a Polish language course, free of charge, for Erasmus students that want to start their journey with this extraordinary language (from A0 level).

However, please be aware that some of the courses at our Academy are offered only in Polish, as this is the official language of instruction, especially for group courses. To take part in such courses it is required to know Polish on the B1 level.

The courses you will take will be discussed after successful application and confirmed in the Learning Agreement signed before the start of the mobility.

Accommodation 

The Academy does not have their own dormitories, but can apply in your name for a room in dormitories provided by the University of Wrocław, if available. Please contact us by email for details, and don’t  forget to write in your application form that you are interested in a room reservation.
