18th National Symposium and Workshops for Church Musicians and Organists
Date:
27 - 28.11.2025On 27–28 November 2025, the 18th National Symposium and Workshops for Church Musicians and Organists will be held, entitled: The Activities of Church Musicians in the Archdiocese of Wrocław after 1945.
The symposium is dedicated to the memory of church musicians active in Lower Silesia after 1945. The event aims to show their real impact on the state (level) of sacred music in the local community. Speakers (experts from various academic centres) will share their knowledge and research in this field with conference participants. Organ improvisation workshops will be conducted in the form of practical classes, which will provide an excellent opportunity for participants to improve their skills.
The special guest of the event will be the renowned organist and improviser, Dr Adam Tański, a graduate of the Paris Conservatoire, the University of Music in Mainz and the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw.
The symposium is addressed to students, academic teachers, secondary school art teachers, active organists and church musicians, composers interested in sacred music, as well as other adults interested in this subject.
PhD Tomasz Głuchowski is responsible for the content and organisation of the symposium.
The symposium will take place on 27–28 November 2025 (Thursday–Friday). The workshop part will take place in the building of the Metropolitan Organ School in Wrocław (ul. Katedralna 4), while the symposium part will be held in the building of the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław (pl. Jana Pawła II 2). The event is part of the Archdiocesan Church Music Days, organised for the second time in Wrocław.
We encourage you to read the RULES AND REGULATIONS, which contain detailed information on participation in the Symposium.
