Concert Commemorating the Victims of the German Nazi Concentration and Extermination Camp Auschwitz-Birkenau

The concert commemorating the victims of the German Nazi concentration and extermination camp Auschwitz-Birkenau will take place on 27 January 2025 at 6:00 PM in the Concert Hall of the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław.

The event is organized to mark the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the camp.

Programme:

• Gabriel Fauré – Requiem in D minor, Op. 48

• Mieczysław Weinberg – The Passenger (opera, selected excerpts)

Performers:

• Soloists of the Junges Ensemble of the Semperoper Dresden

• Chamber Orchestra and “Feichtinum” Choir of the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław

• Chamber Orchestra and Vocal Ensemble of the Ryszard Bukowski Secondary Music School in Wrocław

The concert serves as a musical tribute honoring the memory of the victims and reflecting on one of the most tragic chapters of twentieth-century history.
