Scientific Conference: “The Development of New Means and Performance Techniques as a Determinant of Progress in the Percussion Art of the 21st Century”

From April 14 to 16, 2025, the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław hosted the Scientific Conference titled “The Development of New Means and Performance Techniques as a Determinant of Progress in the Percussion Art of the 21st Century.”
The event was organized by the Department of Wind, Percussion, and Accordion Instruments and was held in a hybrid format — both in-person and online.

The main objective of the Conference was to promote the emancipation of Polish percussion art, exchange performance experiences in the field of percussion instruments, and create a platform for discussion on the current state and future needs of Polish percussion art to ensure its continuous development.
An additional goal was to strengthen integration within the Polish percussion community and to lay the groundwork for future lectures combined with musical demonstrations for aspiring percussionists.

Participation was open to all individuals interested in the development of percussion art — including performers, educators, students, and pupils.

Participation Fees

• 100 PLN – for in-person participants

• 150 PLN – for online participants

• Free of charge – for students of the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław with a valid student ID (in-person attendance)

Participation Procedure

1. Fill out the registration form by April 5, 2025 (11:59 p.m.)

2. Pay the registration fee by April 5, 2025

3. Send proof of payment to perkusja@amkl.edu.pl by April 5, 2025 (11:59 p.m.)

4. In the case of underage participants, submit a signed parental/guardian consent form to the Center for Promotion and Event Organization of the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław by April 5, 2025
