Graduate of the State Higher School of Music in Wrocław at the Faculty of Pedagogy. He graduated in conducting (1958) and the Department of Music Theory, Composition and Conducting in the class of Professor Adam Kopyciński (1963).
He also deepened his conducting skills under the guidance of Franco Ferrara during a master course at the Accademia Chigiana in Siena. He worked as a teacher at the Secondary State Music School in Wrocław (1959-1970). He was employed at his alma mater from 1965 to 1986, where he taught classes in instrumental ensembles, conducting and score reading, as well as providing leadership for a student symphony orchestra. He was the conductor of the Wrocław Polytechnic Choir (1961-1966), music director and first conductor of the Wrocław Operetta (1964-1965), director and artistic director of the Opole Philharmonic (1972-1991), conductor and music director of the Wrocław Opera (1982-1990). In the last two decades he has concentrated his artistic work on the art of opera. In 1989, he established a non-stationary company Opera Polska in Wrocław, with which he systematically performed for many years on opera stages in most European countries, leading performances of works by Mozart, Verdi, Puccini, Rossini, Wagner, Bizet and other composers.
