PhD Agnieszka Zwierzycka
Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Music Education, Choral Singing and Church Music
Graduate of musicology at the Jagiellonian University in Kraków, scholarship holder of the Italian government. She obtained her doctoral degree in musical arts at the Academy of Music in Kraków. Since 1991 she has been working at the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław, where she is a member of the Department of Music Theory and History of Silesian Musical Culture as well as the Department of Church Music. Since 2016 she has served as Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Music Education, Choral Conducting, and Church Music.
She teaches courses in musical analysis, folklore (ethnomusicology), bachelor’s and master’s thesis seminars, and methodology of teaching musical forms. Her research interests focus primarily on the history of Polish music of the 19th and early 20th centuries as well as Polish folk music. She is the author of the book Władysław Żeleński’s Solo Songs (2016), numerous scholarly articles, and entries in the Encyclopedia of Wrocław, as well as co-editor of collective works. She participates in national and international symposia, sessions, and academic conferences. She has also given guest lectures in Verona and Rovigo, Italy.
