He studied solo singing at the Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz and Wrocław, where he was a scholarship holder of the Ministry of Culture and Art (diploma with distinction in the class of Prof. K. Myrlak). He has participated in several competitions organized by the Academy of Music in Wrocław, the Hochschule fur Musik Franz Liszt in Weimar, and the Helmut Rilling Bach Academy. He is the winner of the second prize and a special prize for his performance of St. Moniuszko's songs in Warsaw (1989), third special prize at the University-wide Competition for the Performance of Polish Art Songs (Warsaw, 1991), second prize and a special prize for his performance of Polish works at the Second Inter-University International Vocal Competition in Duszniki Zdrój (1992) and second prize and a special prize from the Rector of the Academy of Music in Gdańsk for the best interpretation of E. Grieg's song Jeg elsker dig at the National Grieg Competition in Gdańsk (1993), prizes for soloists at the International Festival of Orthodox Church Music in Hajnówka.

He has performed baritone and bass parts in over 100 oratorios. He has participated in many festivals in Poland and abroad. He has collaborated with opera and drama theaters. He has made numerous recordings for radio and television in Poland, the Czech Republic, France, and the USA, including albums awarded the Grand Prix du Disque de l'Academie Charles Gros and Diapason d'Or.

He is a professor at the Academy of Music in Wrocław. He has taught numerous winners of national and international vocal competitions, and many of his graduates are now leading figures on opera stages in Poland and abroad. For his pedagogical and artistic activities, he has received numerous awards and diplomas of recognition, including from the director of the Center for Artistic Education, the rector of the Academy of Music in Wrocław, and the Polish Association of Singing Teachers.

He is a laureate of the National Education Medal and the Diploma of the Wrocław Metropolitan Curia. He is a lecturer and director of the Winter Vocal Course in Duszniki Zdrój, and a juror at national and international vocal competitions.
